Year two is the final year of key stage one. The children are expected to be more independent and the school day is more formal than in previous years. In addition to daily lessons of literacy, phonics, numeracy and R.E. the children are taught all of the remaining subject areas as part of the creative curriculum.
Year two children are obliged to take Statutory Assessment Tests (SAT’s). These usually take place during the month of May. The tests are teacher assessed and the children are well prepared. We try to keep testing low key so that the children do not get anxious. We ask that you support your child by helping with their homework and avoiding holidays during term time (especially May!)
