Thank you to all the parents and families for your support this year. We are drawing a successful year to a close, following a very good OFSTED inspection, very good SATs results and the building of a very nice new hall.
Sports competition: Thank you to our staff for their hard work for the recent Rounders and Cricket competition. The children performed very well and were a credit to the school.
Mrs Steward: Unfortunately Mrs Steward is leaving us at the end of this term to take up a new post with Emmanuel Church. We thank her for all the hard work and dedication to our children and families. She will ne much missed.
Music Concert: All children who have had music lessons and the Year 3 class, who has had smaba classes this year will be performing in our school summer Music Concert on Tuesday 12th July 2011 at 3.30pm
Clubs: the last football club’s session will be on Monday 11th July 2011 resuming on Monday the 5th September 2011, for years 4-6.

Year 6 assembly: the Year 6 Leaver’s assembly will be held on Tuesday 19th July at 9.05am.
Borwick Hall: Congratulations to Year 6 for the fantastic behaviour and maturity shown on the recent residential visit to Borwick Hall. The chidlren were a credit to the school and made the visit vry enjoyable for Mrs Boulton, Mrs Blundell and MIss Bradley, who were kind enough to give up three days to be with the children.
Nature: We are compiling our evidence to submit to Wyre in Bloom and the children’s work in nurturing our plants is a particular feature this year. Mrs Upton has produced a book, which we will leave in the reception area once the judges return it.

Thank you to all who attended the Chocolate Bingo Evening. It was very successful and enjoyable. We also appreciated the support regarding the Easter Passion and Easter Gardens, which were very creative and imaginative.
We also have an OFSTED inspection this week and we hope all the success, progress and hard work by the staff and children pays off.
Clothes Collection: The clothes’ collection for the under-privileged in Asia and Africa returns on the 16/06/11. If you have any unwanted clothes to donate, the van will be here from 8.45am
School Dinner Prices: Our school dinner prices will remain at £1.65 for the near future. We are finding it difficult to keep the price down with external pressures on food and transport costs but we are determined to keep the price as low as possible.
Thank you: Thank you to all the children who attended Church for the May Procession and thank you to all children and staff for preparing the wonderful banners for the procession. We would also like to thank the ladies from the Flower Club who celebrated National Flower Arranging Day with lessons for our Year 5 children.
Sweatshirts: We have managed to reduce the price of our sweatshirts with each sweater now costing £8.50, a 15% reduction in price.
Fathers’ Day event: We are planning to hold the Father’s Day Event on Friday 15th June. A non-uniform day will take place on Friday 10th June to collect presents for the event.
Parish Summer Fair: We are hosting the Parish Summer Fair for the first time, which will be held on Sunday 3rd July 2011. We will first be hosting the Parish/School Mass in our New School Hall, with the Parish Summer Fair taking place in the hall and around school straight after Mass.
Friends of Sacred Heart: We are holding the next FOSH meeting in school, from 3.30pm on Tuesday 14th June. All parents and grandparents are welcome to attend.
Borwick Hall: Our Year 6 children are having the annual residential visit from Monday 27th June to 29th June 2011 and they are looking forward to taking on the challenges and activities at Borwick Hall. Well done for the Year 6 children and staff for working so hard in their KS2 SATs and for their excellent concentration during the week.
