Letter from the headteacher
Thursday, September 2nd, 2010
Dear parents and guardians,
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome back everyone for thenew school year. For those who our new to our school, I would like to offer a special welcome. I hope everyone had an enjoyable and relaxing summer.
Throughout the school year there will again be a variety of events, celebrations, functions and activities to join in with, and your support of school events has been invaluable. Your support makes your child feel important and sends the message that you value school.
We also would like to welcome several new members of staff: Miss Darville, who will be teaching year 1; Mr Charles, who will be working with the Upper Juniors, and Mrs Pagen, who will be working with the infants.
We currently have submitted the planning permission for the proposed extension to the school hall, and subject to finances we will look to start this work in October.
Thank you to everyone who has kindly donated money to Christie’s, for the Great North Swim which myself, my brother and Mrs McGreevy are doing for the charity, this Saturday, in the freezing depths of Lake Windermere. If you would like to sponsor us, or donate money to Christie’s, I have reattached the reply slip to the bottom of this letter (I will collected donations upto 17/9/10).
We look forward to working together again this year, to ensure that your children flourish at Sacred Heart.
I hope that together- you, your children and all of our staff- can make this school year rewarding and fulfilling.
Mr P. Eaton

Year 1 appointment
Wednesday, June 23rd, 2010
We are delighted to announce the appointment of a new teacher to our school, who will be teaching Year 1 from September.
Our new teacher is Miss Darville, who is also endeavouring to make herself available to meet the children on Thursdays for the ‘moving up’ afternoons. She will be teaching her new class for the afternoon.
We are looking forward to welcoming Miss Darville on a full-time basis in September
