Mr Eaton

Netball Team

Congratulations to our school netball team for winning the Thornton Cleveleys netball rally for the third successive year, and for winning all six games against each of the schools. They have now qualified for the Blackpool, Wyre and Fylde finals in May. Thank you to Miss Green and Mrs Boulton for their commitment to the sport.

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang

On behalf of all the staff involved with the Chitty production, we would like to congratulate all the children involved in the fantastic performances. The children have utterly excelled, with superb acting, singing and dancing, particularly with all the lines they have learned.

Thank you to all of the adults and staff who have supported the children. Their dedication and commitment is mirrored in the efforts of the children, who have thoroughly enjoyed this wonderful experience.

Easter Passion in Church

Thank you to Year 5 for preparing for the Easter Passion, which will take place in Church at 9.30am on Wednesday 1st April 2015. All welcome!

Easter Chocolate Bingo

Thank you to everyone who attended the Chocolate Bingo. It was a very successful and enjoyable evening, and well done to all of our chocolate prize winners! Thank you to Mr Coleman for his excellent bingo calling!

Easter Gardens

We are running our competition for the Easter Gardens. There will be prizes for the best entries, and the deadline is Friday 17th April.

Sporting Competitions

We are competing in a Girls’ football tournament at Fuse Football, the new training ground for Fleetwood Town in May. The next netball competition is in April and also the netball finals will take place in May. We will also be competing in the Wyre Girls’ Cricket, rounders tournament and mixed cricket tournaments. There are also events for Athletics, rowing, football and Gymnastics coming up.

Tag Rugby

Congratulations to our Tag Rugby team who reached the final of the Wyre competition– well done for your amazing try-scoring exploits! Congratulations to Loyd, Leon, Kathryn, Yasmin, Ruby, Rachel, Ronnie, Bailey and Adam.

Cross Country

We held our inaugural Cross Country race at school, with 60 children volunteering to take part! Congratulations to Rachel Bowker and Rafael Eaton for winning their races. They were joined by Dominic, Loyd, Abbie and Kathryn for the Stanah Cross country race, and produced our best performance in the event.

Y3/4 Athletics

Congratulations to our Y3/4 athletics team finishing 3rd in the competition at Cardinal Allen. We were very impressed with the speed and skill the children showed, and it bodes well for the future following this experience. Breakfast and After School Club

If you need childcare before or after school, please see the school office, or ring Mrs Porter or Mrs Melling direct on 07538924508. We have extended opening until 6pm. The Breakfast Club is open from 7.30am until school time, and children receive food and drinks at both the breakfast and after school clubs.

Absences and Appointments

In addition to no longer being allowed to authorise holiday absences, we are now expected to see evidence of appointments, if your child requires a medical appointment during school time.

Opportunity to See Children’s Work

Parents can come into school between 3-4pm on Wednesday 1st April to see their child’s work.

Admissions for Future Years

If you would like to add your child to the admissions list, please see me or Mrs Fairclough. If you have a sibling of a child currently at Sacred Heart, it is still worth registering with us. We hold registers of interest for 2016 and 2017.

Sports Day

We will be holding our annual sports day on Thursday 11th June 2015. It will begin at 1pm, and all children will be in all races. Children can run in trainers for better grip, and hopefully we will have dry weather. Please bring an umbrella.

Music

If there is any child who would like to learn to play the violin, guitar, keyboard, clarinet, flute or brass, please speak to Mrs Porter or Mrs Fairclough, so that we can arrange this for you.

School Meals

We are continuing to retain our school meal price at £1.65 per meal, which we will continue to keep for the foreseeable future, still the lowest of all the local schools.

Reminders

Articles of jewellery are not allowed in school, they could cause injury to the wearer or another person. Earrings have been a constant source of argument and injury in the past. The Local Authority bans them for P.E. and swimming. The Governors of this school have ruled that no jewellery, other than a wrist watch, can be worn in school. Shoes must be worn as standard uniform (not boots or trainers).

Please remember that nail varnish is not permitted.

Lost Property

Please can all property and clothing belonging to your children have their names written or sewn in.

Hair

At Sacred Heart, dyed hair, Mohican hairstyles and shaved patterns into hair are not acceptable and long hair should be tied back. Painted nails are also not allowed.

Blackpool Music Festival

Thank you to Mrs Rae for all her hard work, with support from several staff and parents, for the extremely successful performance at the Opera House. We have lots of wonderful feedback regarding how well the children performed, and the audience clearly loved their performance. Congratulations!

School Car Park

Please could all parents refrain from using the school car park when collecting children from clubs that finish at 4.30pm, as we do not have the space for all cars, and to protect the safety of parents and children.
