April Newsletter 2014

Monday, April 7th, 2014

We are having an enjoyable and busy year so far, with the children progressing well across school, and enjoying school life. We are very grateful for the hard work and dedication of all of our staff, and all the opportunities they have given to the children.

Mr Eaton

Thank you to Mrs Rae for all her hard work, with support from several staff and parents, for the extremely successful performance at the Opera House. We have lots of wonderful feedback regarding how well the children performed, and the audience clearly loved their performance. Congratulations!

We are running our competition for the Easter Gardens, where children can design an Easter Garden, in a seed tray. There will be prizes for the best entries, and the deadline is Friday 25th April.

Thank you to all parents and children for bringing in presents for our Mother’s Day event, and a special thank you to the parents and parishioners who wrapped the presents for the children.

We are opening the doors from 3pm on Wednesday 2nd April for parents to view their child’s books.

Thank you to Year 5 for preparing for the Easter Passion, which will take place in Church at 9.30am on Wednesday 9th April 2014.

We are looking forward to hosting the annual Chocolate Bingo on Thursday 3rd April 2014, at 6pm.
It is free entry, but bingo cards need to be purchased, and there will be refreshments available.
Each game will have a chocolate prize for the first line, and a Chocolate hamper for house.

Thank you to all of the children who participated in the Q&A and coaching session with Matty Blair and Graham Alexander from Fleetwood Town. Their behaviour, knowledge and support for the club was truly impressive, as Graham said on Granada Reports on Friday!
The club and school featured together on ITV, in the Gazette and on Radio Wave, as Fleetwood Town announced the imminent work on their new training ground, 200 yards from school.
We have supported Fleetwood Town on this project, and we were delighted to be the venue chosen to announce the project. Schools in the area will get the opportunity to use the facilities, for football and other sports, and we can also learn from the coaching by attending training sessions.

Thank you to the parents and staff for giving up their time to run the discos, and thank you to all the children who attended for their excellent behaviour.

The children had the opportunity to experience fencing, for the first time for virtually every child. It was a very interesting day, with children learning the techniques and technical language.
On Tuesday 1st April, the children will get the opportunity to learn about archery technique, with an archery coach coming in for the day.
