 CHILDREN IN NEED

The children via the School Council would like to support Children In Need and CAFOD this year, and in order to do this, we have agreed to raise funds for the charity by letting children come to school in a heroes costume, in exchange for a minimum donation of £2.

Thank you in advance for your support!

 MORRISONS

Morrisons have resumed their ‘Let’s Grow’ campaign, to encourage schools to collect vouchers for gardening equipment.  If you shop in Morrisons, please ask for the vouchers, as we are collecting in school.

 SCHOOL CAR PARK

Please could all parents refrain from using the school car park when collecting children from clubs that finish at 4.30pm, as we do not have the space for all cars, and to protect the safety of parents and children.

 WATER BOTTLES IN CLASSROOMS

We encourage children to bring water bottles into school to have in the classroom, to keep children hydrated and improve concentration.  Thank you to all the parents who support us with this, however, please can we ensure that it is water in such bottles, not cordial, juice or flavoured water.  Water can be refilled at school.

October Newsletter

Thursday, October 9th, 2014

We have had a very good start to the new school year, with our children settled into their new classes and resuming their positive work ethic across school. We have several events to look forward to in the next few months, starting with Grandparents’ Day on Friday 3rd October, the Family Quiz Night on Thursday 23rd October, and Ladies’ Evening on Tuesday 11th November.

Mr Eaton

WYRE SPORT SCHOOL OF THE YEAR

Following the success of the school in sport over the last twelve months, we have been recognised by Wyre Council for the second successive year.

We are delighted to again be Wyre Sport School of the Year, and this reflects the hard work and dedication of our staff towards giving children as many sporting opportunities as possible.

Our staff have worked hard to develop their teaching and coaching, and our children have shown great commitment to the clubs and in working hard to develop their skills.  Fundamentally, there has been great enjoyment in PE and sport across the school, and we look to continue this for the future.

 SCHOOL COUNCILLORS 2014/15

Congratulations to the following children for being chosen to represent their class on our school council.  Thank you to the 50 children who wrote speeches and spoke to their classes as part of the process.

Our school councillors are:

Caitlin Crossman, Robert Paddock, Charlie Tomlinson, Olivia Culley, Kaitlyn Rutland, Leonie Beswick, Harry Clarke and Isabella Urmston.

Thank you to all the children who ran for the positions, they produced very intelligent and articulate speeches!

QUIZ NIGHT

We are having our second Family Quiz Night on Thursday 23rd October, from 6pm.

The evening promises to be very entertaining, with a variety of rounds which all family members will able to participate in. It promises to be fun, as well as a good opportunity for our families to meet together.
