Letter from the headteacher

Wednesday, July 17th, 2013

Dear Parents and Guardians

I am writing to you to wish you all an enjoyable and peaceful holiday, and I hope all our children, staff and parents return back to school safe and refreshed!

School finishes on Wednesday 17th July at 1.30pm. We return on Monday 2nd September 2013.

We wish Year 6 all the very best for the future, as they have all worked extremely hard, and are a credit to their families. They have made a huge impact on our school, particularly with their SATs results, the progress they have made, and their achievements in sport, drama and music.

We also wish Mrs Brady the very best for the future, and we thank her for all her hard work and dedication to the children of Sacred Heart, as she moves on to the next stage of her career, undertaking teacher training, and I know she will be a successful teacher. However, we are delighted to announce we have appointed Mrs Hargreaves to work in September to replace Mrs Brady.

Office and Reception Work

Hopefully by the time school returns in September, the work on the reception area and office extension will be nearing completion. We are also having other improvements around school, with adjustments to doors and additional storage being created.

Have a wonderful summer!

Yours sincerely

Mr P. Eaton
Headteacher

Scope Charity Bike Ride

Wednesday, July 17th, 2013

Last week, a parent from Sacred Heart (Mr Schwela) cycled the 280 miles from London to Paris in 24 hours. The aim is for each participant is to raise £1200 for Scope, which helps disabled people and their families making the most of their lives, by providing advice, support, equipment and also lobbying for equal rights for disabled people. 231 people took part, with only about 5% retiring, a good completion rate.

For those able and willing to contribute to the charity, please help by clicking this link. 100% of the funds go to the charity Scope.

Congratulations to Mr Schwela for your achievement.
