Letter from the Headteacher

Wednesday, March 31st, 2010

Dear parents and guardians,

I am writing to wish you a happy Easter and I hope you and your children enjoy a well-earned break.

On behalf of the staff I would like to thank you for your support over the term, and to thank you for all the wonderful Easter gardens that were created.

We will be supporting our Parish over Easter, particularly with the Holy Thursday Mass tomorrow (7.30pm). There are also Masses on Good Friday (3pm), Saturday (7pm) and Easter Sunday at 10am.

Our building work is expected to be completed when we return after Easter and the children can look forward to beinbg in their new, spacious classrooms. We have other developments occurring after Easter, with a canopy being built for outdoor play in the Pre-school area, and the Fleetwood Road pedestrian entrance is also being improved. Long term, we are making initial plans to extend the hall, although this may take time to organise and secure funding for.

I would like to thank the parents and staff who helped to organise the Chocolate Bingo, and thank you to the families who supported the occasion. it was a great success and a very enjoyable and relaxed evening. We again thank you for helping to supply the chocolate prizes, and other donations for the raffle. We were particularly amazed with Mrs Nova’s amazing chocolate egg cake. We thank her for her time, effort and skill given to creating such a fantastic egg. And finally thank you also to Father Peter for his expert bingo calling.

I have written a welcome letter to our new families starting with us in September 2010. Our Reception class will have an intake of 30 children. If you have a child of school age for September 2011 we already have a list to which you could add his/her name on.

We return to school after Easter on Tuesday 13th April 2010. We will be breaking up tomorrow at 1.30pm.

Mr Eaton
