Welcome to the first newsletter of the new school year. I would first like to thank all of our school staff for their hard work in preparation for the new school year. I would like to extend a warm welcome to our new parents whose children have joined the school, in our Reception class and other classes in the school.
We intend to again have a happy and successful year, and continue to develop our outstanding school, and enjoy life at Sacred Heart.
Following the success of the school in sport over the last twelve months, we intend to continue giving all children opportunities for sport in school.
We will be providing this in PE lessons, lunchtime clubs, after school clubs, bringing coaches in for sessions during and after school, and by having our own in-house competitions.
We also intend to continue to enter all the sports events locally, and give the children the best chance of testing their skills against other schools!
We have voted in new house captains for each house, congratulations to the following children:
Ruby:Â Isobel Wheeldon, Alfie Tomlinson
Sapphire: Matthew Hayes, Lily Eaton
Emerald: Safron Rogerson, James B Rowe
Gold:Â Amy Porter, Luke Kilgour
Thank you to all the children who ran for the positions, they produced very intelligent and articulate speeches!

We will be holding our first parent’s evening on Wednesday 9th October, when you can find out about the progress of your child with their academic work, and how to support them at home.
We are holding our annual Open Morning for parents with children of Pre-school age, to show our school in action, and give parents the opportunity to look around school and ask questions to me and other staff. This takes place on Thursday 24th September.
Morrisons have resumed their ‘Let’s Grow’ campaign, to encourage schools to collect vouchers for gardening equipment. If you shop in Morrisons, please ask for the vouchers, as we are collecting in school.
Please could all parents refrain from using the school car park when collecting children from clubs that finish at 4.30pm, as we do not have the space for all cars, and to protect the safety of parents and children.
