The team unfortunately lost the final to Shakespeare, but this was the first time our school has reached a cup final! They have also qualified for the League Finals at Highbury stadium, playing Chaucer in the Semi-finals. The team qualified by winning all their games in a tournament at Poolfoot, only conceding one goal, and beating Baines, Flakefleet, Shakespeare, St Wulstans, Charles Saer and Northfold.

Mrs Boulton will sadly be leaving us on Friday 22nd June, as she will becoming a Conductor for Northern Rail! Congratulations for the girls performances in recent matches and at the Wyre Football tournament, where our teams finished 3rd overall, winning 5 out six games and only conceding one goal, which was in extra time of the semi-final in a narrow defeat to Stanah. Congratulations for your excellent performances and athleticism, and the girls now get the opportunity to take part in the first ever schools league for girls football after half term. Well done to Phoebe, Grace, Bethany, Dakota, Natalia, Isabella, Elliotte, Sophie and Emily.

YEAR 6 SATs
Our children and staff in Year 6 have worked very hard, revised studiously and done their best in the recent tests, and we hope the hard work has paid off for them. The children have learnt how to revise, which is a skill they will need in future education!

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION
Congratulations to all of the Holy Communicants for committing their time in preparation for taking the Sacrament. The service was a wonderful occasion, and the children read brilliantly!

Articles of jewellery are not allowed in school, as they could cause injury to the wearer or another person. Earrings have been a constant source of argument and injury in the past. The Local Authority bans them for P.E. and swimming. The Governors of this school have ruled that no jewellery, other than a wrist watch, can be worn in school. Shoes must be worn as standard uniform. Nail varnish is also not be worn by children.

Please could all parents refrain from using the school car park at all times. This includes when collecting children from clubs that finish at 4.30pm, as we do not have the space for all cars, and to protect the safety of parents and children.
